Okidata MC573 MFP Toner Cartridge Replacement Guide

  1. Lift the printer's scanner assembly.
  2. Press the cover release button, then fully open the output tray.
  3. Release the toner cartridge that needs to be replaced by turning the blue lever in your direction. Carefully lift the toner cartridge at the right side, then pull it out of the printer.
  4. Get your new CompAndSave Oki MC573 MFP toner cartridge. Open the cartridge over a sink or garbage can to avoid any messes in case of a powder leak, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill toner cartridges. Shake the toner cartridge five to six times and avoid touching the bottom part of the toner, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  5. Carefully align and insert the new toner cartridge to its left side first, then insert the right side.
  6. Once the cartridge is firmly seated in place, turn the blue lock lever back to its original position.
  7. Close the printer's output tray and lower the scanner assembly.

Okidata MC573 MFP Toner Cartridges FAQs

Why is my toner cartridge not working?

First, make sure that you are using the right toner cartridge for your printer. To verify, you may check the printer's manual and check if you installed the right model number of toner to your printer. Next, is to remove the toner cartridge from the printer, then shake the toner cartridge about five to six times. Make sure to cover the cartridge with plastic to avoid leaking. After this, make sure that the toner is properly seated in its slot and make sure that it is secured in place. Can I refill my toner cartridge?

Yes, genuine cartridges are refillable; however, it is not recommended since you have to replace some parts of the toner as well. If you think of refilling an empty toner cartridge, please bear in mind the following pros and cons. The major advantage of refilling is cost-efficiency. It'll be a way cheaper option rather than purchasing a new genuine one. On the other hand, refilled toner cartridges can have issues with print quality and durability. Toner consists of different parts such as rolling gears, cleaning blades and etc. These parts wear out over time which can cause noise when printing, low-quality printouts, and even leakage inside the printer. Another thing to look into is the imaging drum; these hold the image before the toner powder is applied to the paper. Just like the toner, parts of the imaging drum also wear and tear over time.

To sum it all up, we highly encourage you to have it refilled through stores that offer refilling services instead. If you choose to purchase a new one, we at CompAndSave offer a wide variety of cheap printer toner cartridges at a much lesser price without compromising its quality. Our toners are manufactured to meet or exceed the OEM specifications, which will save you from all the trouble of going through the process of refilling a toner cartridge.

What is the difference between original and compatible toner cartridges?

OEM or Original Equipment Manufactured cartridges are toner cartridges that are made by the same company that manufactured the printer. Compatible toner cartridges, on the other hand, are produced and filled by third-party companies. The parts used are brand new and are not recycled from OEM toner cartridges. The same procedure applies to compatible ink cartridges. Both provide the same quality of printouts, but the compatibles may surpass the OEM and are sold at a much lower price.
