How to Install Oki B4500 Toner Cartridges?

  1. Open the printer's top cover by pressing the cover release button.
  2. Turn the lock lever to unlock position to release the toner, then carefully pull the toner cartridge out from the printer.
  3. Get your new CompAndSave Okidata B4500 toner cartridge. Open the cartridge over a sink or garbage can to avoid any messes in case of a powder leak, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill toner cartridges. Gently shake the toner cartridge and avoid touching the bottom part of the toner, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  4. Carefully align and insert the new toner cartridge into the slot. Turn the lock lever back to its original position to secure the cartridge.
  5. Close the printer's top cover.

Oki B4500 Toner Cartridges FAQ's

How many times can you refill a toner cartridge?

A genuine toner cartridge can be refilled up to 3 times. However, refilling a toner is not recommended since you have to replace some parts of the toner as well. If you think of refilling an empty toner cartridge, please bear in mind the following pros and cons. The major advantage of refilling is cost-efficiency. It'll be a way cheaper option rather than purchasing a new genuine one. On the other hand, refilled toner cartridges can have issues with the print quality and durability. Toner consists of different parts such as rolling gears, cleaning blades and etc. These parts wore out over time which can cause noise when printing, low-quality printouts, and even leakage inside the printer. Another thing to look into is the imaging drum; it holds the image before the toner powder is applied to the paper. Just like the toner, parts of the imaging drum also wear and tear over time.

To sum it all up, we highly encourage you to have it refilled through stores that offer refilling services instead. If you choose to purchase a new one, we at CompAndSave offer a wide variety of cheap printer toner cartridges at a much lesser price without compromising its quality. Our toners are manufactured to meet or exceed the OEM specifications, which will save you from all the trouble of going through the process of refilling a toner cartridge.

Is toner cheaper than ink?
Yes, toner cartridges are cheaper compared to regular ink cartridges in the long run. Laser printers that use toner cartridges are designed for office use which requires a lot of printing. Inkjet printers, on the other hand, are mostly for home or small office use. Typically a toner can print from 1,000 to 30,000 pages, while ink cartridges can print up to 100 to 3,000 pages depending on their make and model. With that being said, the cost-per-page of a toner cartridge is much cheaper compared to regular ink cartridges, making it a better option, especially if you print a lot on a daily basis.
