- Ensure the printer is turned on, then open the ink cartridge access door by lifting it.
- The HP Photosmart 6520 printer ink cartridge carriage will automatically move, so wait for it to stop moving before you proceed.
- To release the ink cartridge, push the plastic tab and then pull the cartridge out from the printer.
