HP Pagewide XL 4600 Ink Cartridge FAQs

Why does my HP printer says print cartridge problem?

There are a few reasons why your printer will show a "Print Cartridge Problem" error. First, make sure that the ink cartridge you installed on your printer is the right model number. To verify this, check the printer's manual or the last ink cartridge that worked on your printer, and look for the model number, which is consisted of alphanumeric characters. For example, the HP Pagewide XL 6000 MFP uses the ink cartridge with the model code of HP 843A. Next, your printer might be having trouble reading the ink cartridge. To fix this issue, remove the ink cartridge from the printer, then wipe the copper part of the cartridge with a damp non-abrasive towel or cloth. Install the cartridge back into the machine and turn it off for 15 minutes. For more troubleshooting steps, click Troubleshooting Tips, and you will be redirected to the right page.

What happens if I put the wrong ink cartridge in my printer?

If you unknowingly purchase the wrong ink cartridge for your printer, it will most likely not fit inside the machine due to different fittings depending on the model. But in case you manage to install it inside your printer, the printer will not recognize it and will definitely not print. So make sure to only install the ink cartridge model intended for your printer.

How do I refill my HP PageWide 6000 ink cartridge?

You can have your genuine HP ink cartridges refilled up to three times. However, it is not recommended since it can cause printing issues such as streaks and poor print quality.
