How do I change the ink cartridge on my HP OfficeJet 6000?
- To turn on the printer, press the power button.
- Open the cartridge access door.
- To unlatch the cartridge, push the release tab inward on the cartridges' front. The cartridge can now be removed from the carriage.
- Get your new CompAndSave HP E609a ink. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case it leaks, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill the ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color along with the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
- Make sure the cartridge contact points face the printhead. Slide the new cartridges into the appropriate color slot.
- Place the new cartridge into the slot and gently push down until it snaps lock into place.
- Close the top cover of the printer. The cartridge carrier will now move to the printer’s right side.
