HP LaserJet Pro M501 Toner Replacement Guide

  1. Make sure that the printer is turned on.
  2. To open the front door, just locate and press the cover release button, which can be found on the left side of your printer.
  3. Grab the toner cartridge that needs to be replaced by its handle, then carefully pull it out of the printer.
  4. Get your new CompAndSave toner cartridge. Open the cartridge over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case of a powder leak, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill the toner cartridges. Gently shake the toner cartridge and avoid touching the bottom part of the toner, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  5. Carefully align and insert the new HP M501 toner cartridge into its slot until it is firmly seated in place.
  6. Close the front door.

HP LaserJet Pro M501 Toner Cartridges FAQs

Why is HP laser toner so expensive?

OEM ink and toner manufacturers claim that the high cost of toner cartridges is due to the research and development of technologies to deliver high-quality ink and toner. However, it is worth noting that there are generic cartridges that exceed OEM requirements while being less expensive than their counterparts. CompAndSave's compatible and replacement ink and toner cartridges are engineered to meet or exceed OEM standards. That is to say, you can have the same print quality and page output without spending a fortune. Please keep in mind that using generic, remanufactured, or replacement cartridges will never void the warranty on your printer. Can you use generic toner in HP laser printer?

Absolutely! CompAndSave's generic, compatible, replacement, or remanufactured toner cartridges are designed to meet or exceed the OEM specifications. This means that you can get the same print quality and the number of prints without paying as much compared to original HP toner cartridges. Aside from this, using generic toner cartridges will never void the printer's warranty. So you can shop and use our toner cartridges without any worry. For more information about our toner cartridges, click ink knowledge base, and you will be redirected to the right page.

How long does HP laser toner last?

OEM HP toner cartridges have a shelf life of up to 24 months. CompAndSave's replacement toner cartridges, on the other hand, have a proven shelf life of up to 20 months or more. In terms of page yield, HP LaserJet M501 toner cartridges, which are HP 87A and HP 87X, can last up to 8,550 pages for the standard HP 87A and up to 18,000 for the high-yield HP 87X toner cartridges.
