How to install HP 4240 toner cartridges?

  1. Open the printer’s top cover.
  2. To remove the used toner cartridge, grab the handle on the toner cartridge and pull it out.
  3. Get your new CompAndSave HP LaserJet 4240 toner cartridge. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case it leaks, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill the toner cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color along with the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  4. Gently rock the cartridge to distribute the toner evenly.
  5. Align the new HP LaserJet 4240 cartridge with the printer's tracks, then push it in until it is securely installed.
  6. Close the printer’s top cover.

Is laser toner cheaper than ink?
Yes, toner cartridges are cheaper compared to regular ink cartridges in the long run. Laser printers that use toner cartridges are designed for office use which requires a lot of printing. Inkjet printers, on the other hand, are mostly for home or small office use. Typically, a toner can print from 1,000 to 30,000 pages, while ink cartridges can print up to 100 to 3,000 pages at 5% page coverage depending on their make and model. With that being said, the cost-per-page of a toner cartridge is much cheaper compared to regular ink cartridges, making it a better option, especially if you print a lot on a daily basis.
