  3. Grab the handle on the toner cartridge that needs to be replaced, then carefully pull it out of the printer.
  4. Get your new CompAndSave HP M154a toner cartridge. Open the cartridge over a sink or garbage can to avoid any messes in case of a powder leak as sometimes, factories tend to overfill toner cartridges. Shake the toner cartridge and avoid touching the bottom part of the toner, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  5. Insert the new toner cartridge into its respective slot until it is firmly seated in place.
  6. Push the toner cartridge drawer back into place and close the printer's front door.

HP Color LaserJet Pro M154a Toner Cartridge FAQs

Is it OK to refill toner cartridge?

Yes, you can; However, it is not recommended since you have to replace some parts of the toner as well. If you think of refilling an empty toner cartridge, please bear in mind the following pros and cons. The major advantage of refilling is cost-efficiency. It'll be a way cheaper option than purchasing a new genuine one. On the other hand, refilled toner cartridges can have issues with print quality and durability. Toner consists of different parts such as rolling gears, cleaning blades and etc. These parts wore out over time, which can cause noise when printing, low-quality printouts, and even leakage inside the printer. Another thing to look into is the imaging drum; these hold the image before the toner powder is applied to the paper. Just like the toner, parts of the imaging drum also wear and tear over time.

To sum it all up, we highly encourage you to have it refilled through stores that offer refilling services instead. If you choose to purchase a new one, we at CompAndSave offer a wide variety of cheap printer toner cartridges at a much lesser price without compromising its quality. Our toners are manufactured to meet or exceed the OEM specifications, which will save you from all the trouble of going through the process of refilling a toner cartridge.

Is it OK to use compatible toner?

Absolutely! CompAndSave's generic, compatible, replacement, or remanufactured toner cartridges are designed to meet or exceed the OEM specifications. This means that you can get the same print quality and number of prints without paying as much compared to original toner cartridges. Aside from this, using generic toner cartridges will never void the printer's warranty. So you can shop and use our toner cartridges without any worry. How do you know if your toner cartridge is empty?

Most of the time, a message on your printer's control panel will appear letting you know that the toner cartridge is about to be empty or already empty. Another indication is when you are no longer getting a solid or good print quality, you will notice uneven or smears on the printout. When this happens, you may order your new toner cartridge at CompAndSave, our toner cartridges are designed to match the print quality and number of printout of the original HP toner cartridges but at a very affordable price.
