How do I install HP Color LaserJet 4550 toner on my printer?

  1. Turn on your printer. Close down the top cover.
  2. Press Select on the printer’s control panel to place the empty toner cartridge in the replacement position.
  3. Open the printer's top cover by pressing the release button on the left side of the printer.
  4. Rotate the used toner towards the printer's front until it comes to a stop. Pull out the toner.
  5. Get your new CompAndSave HP 4550 toner cartridge. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case of powder leaks, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill the toner cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color along with the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  6. Slide the HP LaserJet 4550 toner down into the printer until it locks into place. Rotate the toner cartridge toward the printer's back until it comes to a stop.
  7. Press Go, then wait for the control panel to show Ready.

HP Color LaserJet 4550 Toner Cartridges FAQs

What toner does HP Color LaserJet 4550 use?
The HP Color LaserJet 4550 printer uses the HP 640 toner cartridges. CompandSave offers replacement standard yield HP 640A cartridges in black, cyan, magenta, and yellow that are high-quality and budget-friendly. To know more about remanufactured and compatible toner cartridges, check our Ink Knowledge Base.
Why are toner cartridges so expensive?
OEM ink and toner manufacturers claim that the high cost of toner cartridges is due to the research and development of technologies to deliver high-quality ink and toner. However, it is worth noting that generic cartridges exceed OEM requirements while being less expensive than their counterparts. CompAndSave's compatible and replacement ink and toner cartridges are engineered to meet or exceed OEM standards. You can have the same print quality and page output without spending a fortune. Please keep in mind that using generic, remanufactured, or replacement cartridges will never void the warranty on your printer. For additional information, please visit our Ink Knowledge Base.
