How to install HP 950XL ink & HP 951 ink cartridges XL?
- Make sure that your printer is turned on.
- Open the ink cartridge’s access door.
- The ink cartridge's carriage will automatically move, so make sure to wait for it to completely stop moving before you proceed.
- Gently push the cartridge in to release it, then pull the cartridge out from the printer.
- Get your new CompAndSave HP 950 951 ink cartridges XL, open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any messes in case it leaks as sometimes, factories tend to overfill ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
- Insert the HP 950 and 951 ink cartridges XL to their respective slot, gently push it in until it snaps lock into place.

- Are HP 950 and 951 interchangeable?
- No, they’re not interchangeable. HP 950/950XL ink cartridge is the model number for the black ink while HP 951/951XL ink cartridge is the model number for the color cartridges which are cyan, magenta, and yellow. Interchanging them would cause the printer not to print at all, as the printer will recognize this as an incorrect cartridge installed.
