How to Install HP 712 Ink Cartridges?

  1. Verify that the printer is turned on, then open the printer's front window.
  2. Gently push the ink cartridge that needs to be replaced to release it, then carefully pull it out of the printer.
  3. Get your new CompAndSave HP ink 712 cartridge and open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any messes in case it leaks, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  4. Insert the new ink cartridge into its respective slot until it is firmly seated in place.
  5. Close the printer's front window.

HP 712 Ink Cartridges FAQ's

Can you use other HP ink cartridges in a HP printer?
Yes, you can. Just make sure that the ink cartridge that you are going to use is the right model for your printer. This means that you can get the same quality and number of prints without paying as much compared to original ink cartridges. How do I get my HP printer to accept compatible cartridges?
Compatible, replacement, or remanufactured cartridges are usually plug-and-play and don't need any changes in settings in order to work. But in case you encounter an issue wherein your printer will not accept it, the first thing to check is if you have purchased the correct model number of cartridge for your printer. To verify this, just check the printer's manual or the old cartridge installed in your printer and look for the model number, which is usually consisted of alphanumeric characters. Once verified and you're still having the same issue, the next thing to do is to turn off the printer for at least 15 minutes, then wipe the copper or chip part of the cartridge with a non-abrasive towel or cloth with alcohol. Reinstall it back to your printer and see if it will work this time. To know more, check our Troubleshooting Tips, and you will be redirected to the right page.
