How do I Prevent Ink Bleeding, Smudging or Smearing in an Inkjet Printer?
To prevent ink bleeding, smudging, or smearing in an inkjet printer, we must first be aware of the factors that cause it:
The Printing Paper Loaded is not designed for Inkjet Printers
Inkjet printer paper is designed to absorb ink as soon as it is sprayed. When ordinary paper is used or if laser printer paper is used, it will cause inkjet bleeding or smearing.
Check the Paper Setting of Your Printer
Photo Paper setting or Matte-Coated Paper setting causes more ink to be printed. If the printing paper loaded in the inkjet printer doesn't match the paper setting, it can cause ink bleeding, smudging, and smearing.
Are You Textile Printing?
If you are textile printing, limit the printing resolution to 200-250 dpi. Anything higher will cause bleeding.
We understand that ink smudging can be a hassle. To stop ink from bleeding on paper, you can also check the instructions by printer brand to resolve the issue properly.
