Epson WF-2850 Ink Cartridge Replacement Guide
- Make sure that your printer is on.
- Raise the printer scanner until it stays in place. Remember not to manually move the print head or touch the white/translucent flat cable found inside the cartridge as it might get damaged.
- Firmly press the cartridge tab and pull the cartridge up to remove it from the printer.
- Get your new CompAndSave Epson WorkForce 2850 ink cartridges, and open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case it leaks as sometimes, factories tend to overfill ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
- Do not forget to gently shake the black ink cartridge five to six times if it is the one you wish to replace. If it is the color ones, there is no need to shake it before opening the cartridges.
- Insert the Epson 2850 ink cartridge into its respective slot until you hear a clicking sound indicating that it has been locked into place.
- Close the printer scanner. Press 'Completed' on your screen to start charging the ink cartridges. Wait for the completion message to show before using your printer to not waste ink.

What ink does Epson WF-2850 use?
Epson WF-2850 printer uses the standard yield Epson 212 ink and high yield Epson 212XL ink cartridges. It comes in black, cyan, magenta, and yellow ink cartridges. Are Epson 212 and 212XL the same?
Epson 212 and 212XL ink cartridges have the same appearance and printer compatibility. The only difference is the high capacity Epson 212XL can print more pages compared to the standard capacity Epson 212 ink cartridges.
Can I use Epson 200 ink instead of 212?
Unfortunately, no. The Epson 200XL does not work with the Epson printers that use Epson 212/212XL and vice versa. Installing Epson 200 to a printer that uses Epson 212 will not be recognized by the printer and might cause some issues. So make sure to only use the ink cartridge model intended for your printer.
