How to change Epson 9800 ink cartridges on printer?

  1. Make sure that the printer is turned on. Open the ink cartridge access door by pressing the circle marking in front.
  2. Raise the ink lever to unlock the ink cartridges. Then carefully pull the cartridge that needs to be replaced out from the printer.
  3. Get your new CompAndSave's Epson 9800 ink cartridge, shake it for about four to six times before opening from the package. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any messes in case it leaks as sometimes, factories tend to overfill ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  4. Insert the Epson 9800 ink cartridge to its respective slot by following the arrow marking on the cartridge. Do not force the cartridge.
  5. Put the ink lever back to locked position then close the ink cartridge access door.

Most Common Epson 9800 Ink Cartridges Questions

How do I get my Epson printer to ignore empty ink cartridges?
Most Epson inkjet printers have a metering system that notifies the customer when the cartridges are running low on ink. The microchip would then shut down the printer and will not allow you to print unless you install a new cartridge. In order to bypass or ignore the empty ink cartridges, you may try to follow these steps. Open the cover and hold the ink button down. When the ink holder returns to its original position, open the lid of the cartridge that does not contain ink and close it without withdrawing the cartridge. Now, close the cover and try to start printing. To avoid printing issues, we highly suggest you replace any empty ink cartridges. CompAndSave offers a wide variety of cheap printer ink cartridges without compromising its quality so you can print to your heart's content.
How can you tell if a printhead is clogged?
You will know that your printhead is clogged if you notice issues with the print quality such as uneven printout, smudges and faded output. For detailed instructions on how to fix this issue, just click troubleshooting tips and you will be redirected to the right page.
