How do I change Epson XP-640 ink cartridge on printer?
- First, make sure your printer is on.
- Next, lift up the scanner unit. Please do not move the print head by hand. Otherwise, you may damage your printer and avoid touching the flat white cable inside the printer.
- Squeeze the tab on the Epson XP-640 ink cartridge and lift the cartridge straight up to remove it.
- Get your new CompAndSave ink cartridge, open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any messes in case it leaks as sometimes, factories tend to overfill ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
- Install the new Epson XP-640 ink cartridges immediately after removing the old one. If you do not, the print head may dry out and be unable to print.
- Remove the color tape from the side of the cartridge. Do not remove any other labels or clear tapes, or ink will leak.
- Insert the new cartridge and push it down until it clicks into place.
- Put the scanner unit back into place then try to print a test page.
