Epson XP-6100 Ink Cartridge Replacement Guide
- Make sure that the printer is turned on. If you are replacing the ink cartridge before it runs out just press the 'Home' button, then 'Maintenance,' followed by 'Ink Cartridge Replacement,' and lastly press 'Start.'
- Raise the printer's scanner assembly until it clicks and stays in place.
- Press the plastic tab at the end of the cartridge that needs to be replaced to release it, then carefully pull it out from the printer.
- Get your new CompAndSave Epson 6100 ink cartridges. If you are replacing the black ink cartridge, shake it four to five times before opening it from the package. No need to shake the color cartridges. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case it leaks, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color, as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
- Insert the new Epson XP-6100 printer ink cartridge into its respective slot, and push it down until it snaps lock into place.
- Put the scanner assembly back into place, then press 'Completed' on the printer's LCD screen. The printer will automatically start the ink charging process. Let this continue until it's done to avoid wasting ink.

This is a function of the printer, not CompAndSave's ink. The cartridge that came with the printer was the same. It seems with the size and cost of this cartridge it should print many more pages than it does. This is certainly more cost effective than getting it from Epson.
