How Do I Change The Ink In My Epson XP-8500 Printer?
- Make sure that the printer is turned on and the CD/DVD tray is not inserted.
- If you are going to replace the ink cartridge without the Replace Ink message. Just go to Maintenance, then Ink Cartridge Replacement, followed by pressing Next, and lastly press Start.
- Raise the printer's scanner assembly. Do not move the printhead manually or by hand as it may damage the printer.
- Press the tab at the end of the cartridge that needs to be replaced to release it, then pull the cartridge out from the printer.
- Get your new CompAndSave Epson 8500 ink cartridge. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case it leaks as sometimes, factories tend to overfill ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
- Insert the new Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 ink cartridge to its respective slot. Push the cartridge until it snaps lock into place.
- Close the printer's top cover. The printer will automatically go through the ink charging process, let this run, and finish on its own to avoid wasting ink.
