Epson XP-5200 Ink Cartridge Replacement Guide

  1. Make sure that the printer is turned on, then raise the printer's scanner assembly.
  2. Press the 'Stop' button, then wait for the ink cartridges to move to the replacement position.
  3. Press the plastic tab at the end part of the cartridge that needs to be replaced to release it, then pull it out of the printer.
  4. Get your new CompAndSave Epson Expression Home XP-5200 ink cartridge. Gently shake the ink cartridge before opening it from the package. Then, open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any messes in case it leaks, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  5. Insert the new Epson XP5200 ink cartridge into its respective slot until it is firmly seated in place.
  6. Put the scanner assembly back into place and let the printer run the ink charging process.

Epson XP-5200 Ink Cartridges FAQs

Can Epson cartridges be refilled?

Yes, you can refill genuine Epson ink cartridges. You just need to have the right instructions and tools in order to do so. But to avoid issues, we highly suggest you replace any empty ink cartridges. CompAndSave offers a wide variety of cheap printer ink cartridges at a much lesser price without compromising its quality. Our cartridges are manufactured to meet or exceed the OEM specifications, which will save you from all the trouble of going through the process of refilling an ink cartridge. If you need a step-by-step instruction on how to refill an ink cartridge, click Ink Refill Guide, and you will be redirected to the right page.

How long do Epson cartridges last?

OEM Epson ink cartridges have a shelf life of up to 24 months or more. CompAndSave's remanufactured Epson ink cartridges, on the other hand, have a proven shelf life of up to 20 months or more. In terms of page capacity, Epson 222 ink cartridges can last up to 210 pages for black and 185 pages for cyan, magenta, and yellow at 5% page coverage. While the high-capacity Epson 222XL black ink cartridge can last up to 550 pages at 5% page coverage.

Why are Epson cartridges so expensive?

OEM ink and toner manufacturers claim that the high cost of toner cartridges is due to the research and development of technologies to deliver high-quality ink and toner. However, it is worth noting that there are generic cartridges that exceed OEM requirements while being less expensive than their counterparts. CompAndSave's compatible and replacement ink and toner cartridges are engineered to meet or exceed OEM standards. That is to say; you can have the same print quality and page output without spending a fortune. Please keep in mind that using generic, remanufactured, or replacement cartridges will never void the warranty on your printer.
