Epson EcoTank Pro ET-5180 Ink Refill Guide
- Make sure that the printer is turned on.
- Press the 'Home' button, followed by 'Maintenance', and select 'Fill Ink'.
- Open the printer's ink tank cover, followed by the ink tank cap that needs to be refilled.
- Get your new CompAndSave Epson ET-5180 ink bottle and open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case it leaks.
- Align the ink bottle to the filling port and let it fill the ink tank on its own. Do not squeeze the bottle.
- Once the ink tank is adequately refilled, remove the ink bottle and secure it.
- Close the ink tank cap and the ink tank cover.

- Does printer ink bottle dry out?
- Yes, they do. Since printer ink for ink tank bottles are liquid-based, they can dry up if not use for a long time. To avoid this issue and clogged printer, make sure to always run the printer's printhead cleaning process or make it a habit to print any pages at least once a week to keep the printhead moist.
- Is all Epson EcoTank ink the same?
- No, they are not. Some Epson EcoTank printers use pigment-type of ink, some use the dye-based type of ink, and others use a combination of both. To know what type of ink your printer uses, you may check the manual that came with it and look for the ink replacement supply. You may also check the existing ink bottles that came with your printer. In front should be a sticker or label with the model number, which is usually a combination of alphanumeric characters. For example, the Epson EcoTank ET-5180 printer uses an ink bottle that has the model code of Epson 542.
