How to change Dell S2815dn toner cartridge on printer?

  1. Turn the control panel up until it clicks.
  2. Hold the front cover on both sides, gently squeeze it while lowering it down to open.
  3. Raise the cartridge lock lever to unlock it.
  4. Locate the toner handle and use it to pull the cartridge out of the machine.
  5. Get your new CompAndSave Dell S2815dn toner cartridge. Gently shake the cartridge to evenly distribute the toner. Open the cartridge over a sink or garbage can to avoid any messes in case of a powder leak as sometimes, factories tend to overfill toner cartridges. Avoid touching the bottom part of the toner, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
  6. Check that the toner cartridge's tabs line up with the notches on the printer. Push the toner cartridge in until it clicks in place.
  7. Lower the cartridge lock lever.
  8. Close the printer's cover and flip the control panel back to reposition it.

Most Common Dell S2815dn Toner Cartridge Questions

What is the difference between original and compatible toner cartridges?
OEM or Original Equipment Manufactured cartridges are toners or ink cartridges that are made by the same company that manufactured the printer. Compatible toners cartridges on the other hand, are produced and filled by third party companies. Parts used are brand new and are not recycled from OEM toner cartridges. The same procedure applies to compatible ink cartridges. Both provides the same quality of print outs but the compatibles may surpass the OEM and are sold on a much cheaper price.
Why should a toner cartridge rather be replaced than refilled?
Although refilling toner cartridges is less expensive, it is not recommended if this is your first time refilling a cartridge since it can cause printing issues such as noise, uneven print quality, and even leaks within the printer. Also, because you reused outdated toner cartridges, a portion of them may have gotten damaged and would require replacement. Buying brand new compatibles as well as remanufactured ink and toner cartridges will help you save money on toner.
