Canon PIXMA TS8820 Ink Replacement Guide
- Make sure the printer is turned on.
- Open the scanning unit/cover. This will move the print head holder to the replacement position.
- Remove the old ink cartridge to be replaced by pushing its corresponding tab to release it.
- Remove the new ink cartridge from the packaging. Remove the protective covering on the new ink cartridge.
- Insert the new ink cartridge into the print head front end first at a slant. Make sure the new ink cartridge inserted matches the label on the slot.
- Press the top of the new ink cartridge until it firmly snaps into place.
- Close the scanning unit/cover.

Are all Canon ink cartridges compatible?
The short answer is no. Canon has different printer models, each or some have their own intended or designated ink cartridges. These ink cartridges have different size, appearance, and fittings. Installing the wrong ink cartridge into your printer can cause printing issues and might damage the printer. To know the model of ink cartridge designed for your printer, you may check the printer's manual, search the ink cartridge online, or check the last or existing ink cartridge installed in your printer. Is it OK to use non-Canon ink cartridges?
Using other brands of ink cartridges such as HP, Brother, or Epson in your Canon printer will not work. Aside from the fact that it will not fit, the chip sensor of these ink cartridges will not be recognized by your printer.
