What is the difference between Canon 280 and Canon 280 XXL?
In terms of size, appearance, and printer compatibility, they are practically the same. The only difference between the two is the number of pages they can print. The standard-yield Canon PGI-280 ink cartridges can only print up to 200 pages at 5% page coverage. The super high-yield Canon PGI-280XXL ink cartridge, on the other hand, can print up to 600 pages at 5% page coverage. If you print a lot, we highly recommend you use the super high-yield Canon PGI-280XXL, as it can print more pages and is cheaper in the long run.
Are Canon 280 and 281 ink cartridges interchangeable?
The answer is no. Even though they are both used for the same printer models, Canon 280 and Canon 281 ink cartridges have a specific slot in the printer, and they also have different ink formulas. The Canon PGI-280 can only be installed in the PGBK slot, while the Canon CLI-281 can only be installed in the slot specified for its colors. Also, Canon PGI-280 is pigment-based. Your printer uses this ink for printing documents and files as they have durable printing output and are fast-drying. The Canon CLI-281, on the other hand, is dye-based, and your printer uses this ink for printing photos and images. Interchanging them can cause damage and printing issues, so make sure to only install them in their specific slot.
Is Canon XXL ink worth it?
