Canon Color imageRUNNER C2880i Toner Cartridges FAQ's

How do I get my printer to accept compatible cartridges?
By default, compatible, replacement, or remanufactured toner cartridges should automatically work without doing any configuration. But in case your printer didn't print after installing these types of cartridges, the first thing to do is to verify that you are installing the correct cartridge. To verify this, you may check the printer's manual or check the previous cartridge that works on your printer. In front or on the side should be a label with the model number. For example, the Canon Color imageRUNNER C2880i printer uses a cartridge that has the model code of Canon GPR-23. Once this is verified, the next step is to remove the cartridge, shake it for about five to six times and reinstall it back to your printer. Then turn off your printer for 15 minutes. Do laser toners dry out?
Toner cartridges are powder-based and not liquid-based. This means that they do not dry out as the powder inside is already dry. But if a toner cartridge was not used for a long time, there's a possibility that the toner powder is not evenly distributed inside. This can cause uneven prints and smudges. To resolve this issue, you may shake the toner cartridge sideways to distribute the toner powder evenly. For more information, click Troubleshooting Tips and you will be redirected to the right page.
