How do I install the ink in my Canon iPF8400?
- Open the top cover.
- Pull up on the carriage cover to fully open it.
- Pull the Printhead Fixer Lever and Printhead Fixer Cover all the way forward to fully open it.
- Remove the Printhead and press the OK button.
- Get your new CompAndSave Canon imagePROGRAF iPF8400 ink cartridge. Open it over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case it leaks, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill the ink cartridges. Make sure to touch the black plastic part only, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color along with the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
- Tilt the printhead slightly forward and place it into the carriage with the nozzles pointing down and the metal contacts facing back. Insert the printhead firmly into the carriage, making sure not to let the nozzles or metal contacts touch the carriage.
- Pull the printhead fixer cover down toward the front to secure the printhead, then press the printhead fixer lever back toward the printer until it clicks.
- Close the top cover.
