Brother HL-2280DW Toner Cartridges Replacement Guide
- Make sure that the printer is turned on.
- Lower the printer's front cover to open it, and then wait for 10 minutes for the printer to cool down while it is still on.
- Take out the empty Brother HL-2280DW toner and drum unit from your printer by pulling it towards your direction.
- Remove the toner from the drum unit by pushing down the green lock lever.
- Get your new Brother 2280DW toner cartridge and shake it five to six times. Open the cartridge over a sink or garbage can to avoid any mess in case of a powder leak, as sometimes, factories tend to overfill the toner cartridges. Avoid touching the bottom part of the toner, then remove the covering tape that is usually bright in color, as well as the plastic protective case, if there is, before installing it.
- Insert the new Brother HL-2280DW cartridge firmly into the drum until you hear a clicking sound, indicating that it is locked in place.
- Clean the drum unit's corona wire by gently sliding the green tab from left to right several times.
- Install the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly back into the printer until it is firmly seated in place.
- Close the printer's front cover.
